Jan is passionate about people’s rights and ensuring that all individuals and their families have access to the fundamental rights that form the foundation for a happy and healthy life.

In January 2022 Jan was awarded Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) due to her undisputed efforts within the charity sector for 20 years.

Her career began with New Era Housing Association, developing community-based housing for people with a learning disability. She then joined Royal Mencap Society to establish their sister housing charity, Golden Lane Housing. She successfully led Mencap’s personal support services for 12 years before leading the Charity as CEO for 6 years.

Since then, Jan has worked with Revitalise as their Chief Executive Officer. Revitalise are a leading national Charity providing much needed breaks and holidays for disabled people and carers across the UK.
