Karen is Head of Public Law and Human Rights at Central England Law Centre. Karen trained in a legal aid practice, qualifying as a solicitor in 1992. Karen specialises in public law in social welfare fields and has a particular specialism in health and social care with a focus on casework with broader, public interest implications. She is the supervising solicitor for the Strategic Public Law Clinic , an initiative established by Warwick University and the Law Centre.

She is a member of the Administrative Justice Council and writes and trains regularly, contributing to one of the leading texts in the Community Care field, Community Care and the Law, and to Legal Action’s regular Community Care Update. Karen has provided consultancy support to a number of national charities.
