Winners of “Best Digital Innovation” at the Third Sector Business Charity Awards

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that we have won in the "Best Digital Innovation" category at the Third Sector Business Charity Awards! This is in recognition of our ground-breaking work with Springbok AI on our free legal information chatbot.

At Access Social Care we provide expert legal advice and casework, supporting disabled and older people to get the care they are entitled to and live the life they choose. Unfortunately with 500,000 people in the UK on a waiting list for care needs assessments and millions unlawfully denied appropriate support, the scale of the problem is so large that we knew our small team couldn't meet the huge need in this area. So we decided to use our expertise to build a tool that people could use to create their own legal letters. We know from experience that these can vastly improve individuals' social care outcomes.

Springbok AI brought their innovative thinking and technical mastery to the project, and together we designed and built a friendly chatbot that asks its users the key questions needed to create bespoke and effective letters to directly address their problem. This means we can now support many more people to change their lives through an increased awareness and confidence in asserting their legal rights. With the chatbot able to help with more common legal problems, our caseworkers are freed up to focus on the complex cases and help those most in need of their skills. As well as this, intelligence gathered from the chatbot can help us to drive meaningful change across the sector.

This award couldn’t have come at a better time as we begin the pilot programme with four other stand-out organisations which go live this week with our Chatbot:

We are currently looking for more organisations to join our pilot programme, to give their communities easy access to our Chatbot by hosting it on their own websites. If you would like to find out more about this, please email our CTO Alan.
